Ideas for Homecoming Activities

Homecoming(one shoulder homecoming dress
) is usually held in the fall and revolves around former students coming home to watch a game and cheer on their alma matter. During homecoming(one shoulder homecoming dress) week, it is traditional for activities to be held to celebrate previous graduates returning home for the big game. Planning an array of activities will get people in the spirit of attending year after year.
Schedule a parade to be held before the football game. Contact your local leaders and get permission for a parade route from your school to the location in town where the game will be played. If the game is played at the school, then you can ask for another small stretch of road in town near the school. You will need to hire police to safely block off the road for the parade. The student council can help pay for this expense.
For the actual parade, assign each class the task of actually building a float. Using wood, chicken wire and tissue paper, create objects for the various floats. Assigning a theme such as a time period, type of animals or characters will help give each float a direction. Then, the week before the big game, the students of each class work for several hours building their floats. On the day of the big game, have several students lift the float pieces onto a flatbed truck. They are then driven to the game in a parade. You can ask the band and other local organizations to march in the parade as well.
The morning of the big game, open the cafeteria up for a homecoming breakfast. You can either hire the kitchen staff, or ask permission for volunteers to cook in the school's kitchen. Try to get groceries and food supplies donated by families and local restaurants and supermarkets. Invite anyone who is attending the game to attend the breakfast. It will allow people of multiple generations to connect with one another. You can also turn the breakfast into a fundraiser by charging the people who attend. Alternately, you can host a cookout event for homecoming attendees.
There are a couple of different ways to do a homecoming dance. You can make it exclusive to the students currently enrolled in the school, or if the town is small, you can invite graduates to attend as well. If you go to a very large school with a huge homecoming attendance, you can have two dances, one for current students and one for former students.
Get permission to hold the dance in the gym or cafeteria, hire a DJ, decide on decorations and sell tickets to the dance. Price the tickets so that the DJ, janitorial and security expenses are covered for the evening from the sales. The rest of the proceeds can be placed in the student council funds.
Take advantage of everyone returning to their high school or college alma matter to hold a blood drive. Get permission to hold the blood drive in a location such as the gym or cafeteria. Contact your local community blood bank and tell them you would like to organize a blood drive. The blood bank will ask questions such as how many people you are expecting and the hours and location where the blood drive will be held. They will set-up the blood stations on the day of the event.
Next, advertise your blood drive by posting it on community websites, social networking websites, and even printing the blood drive information on the back of the tickets sold for the homecoming game or dance. Keep spreading the word and get people to commit to signing up for a specific time to give blood on the day of the event. Also, ask local bakeries and donut shops to donate bagels, donuts and juice that people can enjoy after giving blood.

Ideas for High School Homecoming one shoulder homecoming dress

Wearing a special homecoming(one shoulder homecoming dress) T-shirt the day of the big game is a good way to top off a week full of school spirit. Usually a homecoming shirt will display a person's class and include designs and wording to support the school's team. You can make your own homecoming(one shoulder homecoming dress) T-shirt or get together with friends (or the entire school) and order a professionally made shirt. Does this Spark an idea?

Getting together with a group of friends and making your own is one idea for homecoming(one shoulder homecoming dress) T-shirts. Go to the local craft store and pick up plain T-shirts in your class or school colors. Stock up on puff paints, rhinestones and whatever else you want to decorate your T-shirts with. The group can decide on a design that everyone will use or each person can create his or her own design.
If you are going to make your own homecoming shirts, remember to place a piece of cardboard inside the shirt before you paint or glue anything to keep it from bleeding from the front to the back or vice versa. You also want to come up with a general idea of what you want your shirt to look like, either in your mind or on a piece of paper, before you start decorating to ensure that you are happy with the way it turns out. Finally, make sure that you allow 24 hours for your shirt to dry before wearing it.
Lots of companies will make custom designed homecoming shirts for you. If you have a large group of people, this might be your cheapest option. It will be a little more complicated than everyone making their own shirt, however, because someone will need to be in charge of getting everyone's order -- including shirt size and money. And then, of course, there is the task of agreeing on a design, which might be difficult with so many different people, with different tastes, chiming in.
If you are going to order custom made homecoming T-shirts from a company, the best way to go about it is to ask for design idea submissions well in advance and then have the group vote. This should help to reduce arguments over what the design should be. Make sure that you allow yourself enough time to order the T-shirts and have them shipped before the big game. Also, before you settle on a company to produce the shirts, get recommendations and do some quick research on the company to make sure they are legitimate and reliable. There may even be a company that frequently handles shirt orders for your school.
